Everybody says I'm Fine - Movie Review

"The Best way to look around is to Look Within"

There are very few movies, and more so in the uniquely established "Desi" category, that emphatically touches the heart of the viewer with its Subtle yet strong story line. The story that is so close to all of us, but often left untouched, unheard and unearthed. Few expressions, that we just exhibit, do or understand, but deliberately fear for it to come it out wide in open.

'Everybody says I'm fine' is one such movie, where it not only explores what is being flashed by the higher strata of society, but rather, ventures into the exploring the inner complexities of exultant mind which tries harder each day to immerse its sordid tales of desperation under the crumbled sheet of Glory and Jubilance.

The story of the movie explores the life of Xen ( immaculately played by Rehaan Engineer) who loses his parents in a Electrocution accident, he sees them dying , but can't do anything except waving his hands helplessly from within the Sound proof chamber while the death plays its game on his parent. Thereafter his life becomes the see saw of Voices -- Or No Voices. He chooses to shut all those things that brings or reminds him of loud voices, music and so on.

But inspite of his distastefulness with the Voices, he gets bestowed with the Superior power .. The Power that let him read the minds of people, who come to him for the Hair Cut! There begins the intriguing tale of two faceted life of Upper class society which takes pride on its hollowed inner being.

I loved Rehaan Engineer, this Guy has talent and was looking just 'FAB' for his just perfectly timed decent smiles and Eloquent facial expressions. I fill my heart to acknowledge the new level of performance that has been set by Koel Puri. She was just Exemplary. Rahul boss is just a superlative act, as usual while Boman Irani was just like an Iron on a hotplate - Engrossing!! It was pleasing to see Pooja Bhatt as well casting herself as Upper middle class socialite.

This one is a masterpiece, keep the CD/DVD in close confines and protect it forever. You can't say, when you feel the itch to just switch it on again to know how well people around you say ..."They are Fine!".

Letter to Banta

Dear Banta Vahe Guru !
I am in a well here and hoping you are in the same well there. I'm writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast.
We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen 20 miles from home, so we moved 20 miles.
I wont be able to send the address as the last Sardar who stayed here took the house numbers with them for their new house so they would not have to change their address. Hopefully by next week we will be able to bring our earlier address plate here, so that our address will remain same too.
This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine, situated right above the commode. I'm not sure it works. Last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain and haven't seen them since.
The weather here isn't too bad. It rained only twice last week. The first time it rained for 3 days and second time for 4 days.
The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with all the metal buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pocket.
Your father has another job. He has 500 men under him. He is cutting the grass at the cemetery.
By the way I took Bahu to our club's poolside. The manager is really badmash. He told her that two-piece swimming suit is not allowed in this club. We were confused as to which piece should we remove?
Your sister had a baby this morning. I haven't found out whether it is a girl or a boy, so I don't know whether you are an Aunt or Uncle.
Your uncle, Jetinder fell in a nearby well. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off bravely and drowned. We cremated him and he burned for three days.
Your best friend, Balwinder, is no more. He died trying to fulfill his father's last wishes. His father had wished to be buried at sea after he died. And your friend died while in the process of digging a grave for his father.
There isn't much more news this time. Nothing much has happened.
P.S: Beta, I was going to send you some money but by the time I realized, I had already sealed off this letter.

The New Year

First of All, I Wish those who read my blog ... and to Those who makes others Read My Blog .. A Very Happy New Year 2010
The year 2009 went into the treasury of the past and left the too many precious and magnifed memories for us. We strived and shivered hard fearing the Global Economy meltdown, which eventually didn't bothered us too much thankfully. But the year, made the Economy come out like a winner from the Darkness of the Late 2008.

But indeed, apart from discussing about the precarious economic situation, which you could have found in any Big Economic newspaper, let me find chance to come to the more meaningful things that took place in the last year.

Well, i celebrated the first anniversary (grr. .. that's not a news though .. every year i have to do that, just the counter will be moving forward!). We just enjoyed the second stint at the Air journey into Goa - A happening place i must say!

Besides that ... the life was a usual machine ... lots of work, parties and Enjoyment!! But sitting here on the outset of the new Year, the mind revolves around the desperations and aspirations that are pre-written before the start of each day .. and appear like a Stamped Postcard. Every day has the meaning, and to justify that .. is the Effort of each day.

I welcome the new year with the Equal Zeal and Enthusiasm. May this new year bring the prosperity for my family and friends.

PAA - A Unique Story ..

Amitabh plays a role in which he has a medical condition called Progeria, a rare genetic condition resulting in early aging. In this movie Bachan plays Auro a 13 year old looking like a 25 years younger because of his medical condition in the movie.
Paa features Abhishek, Vidya Balan along with Big B. Here Abhishek plays the role of DAD to Amitabh bacchan.
This movie might be an introduction of some innovative thinking in the bollywood which has now been in the saturation stage of Mushy Romance and Lovely songs.
It's been said that AB has put in 8 hours of Strenous efforts to look like a Child. Well done AB!! Abhishek must learn something from his PAA :)

Google Dashboard - Google knows Everything about you !

I found the following article at ZDNET which explains about the Google's Privacy Dashboard. This article covers about the main features which enables the users to see all their Google information including chatting, search preferences and surfing routine using this application.

The more Google products you use, the more data it collects about everything you do online—your search history, your emails, the blogs and news sites you read, which videos you watch on YouTube, your news alerts, tasks ,and even shopping lists. For some of these, you need to explicitly grant Google permission to keep track of data associated with your profile. But it’s hard to keep up with everything Google is tracking. So now the company is launching a Google Dashboard, which will give you a high-level summary of everything Google knows about you by virtue of the Google products you use. This might include how many emails are in your inbox, recent subject lines, which YouTube video you’ve watched lately (yes, all of them), appointments on your calendar, and more.
If you want more detailed data, it sends you to the particular data repository for that product. And for security purposes it does not create a second database of all the data, it just brings it up in your browser without restoring it server-side.

The Dashboard is only for Google products which require you to sign in with your Google account. It does not include cookie-based data Google collects through DoubleClick ads or other ads.

Windows 7 - The Re-Emergence from the Bewilderness

By the End of the October 2009, Microsoft has launched the most awaited version of Windows - Windows 7. And this time, the wait was from the Other side, it was not the consumers (who were particularly still busy in trying establishing the Nuts and Bolts of Windows Vista - The Earlier version of Windows. So it was ideally the Developers and Microsoft Inc. which was eager to launch the new version on Board.
Around 22nd October 2009, Microsoft launched the Polished and Eloquent version of their Windows with usual Fanfare and glitters. Hoarding, leaflets and heavy promotion everywhere. Now, i am in the quest to try the so Called rescuer of pain and Re-Structuring of the ease, may the best of time comes when the world will get used to the next Revolution in Windows Operating System. The Convergence is still ON !

Mission 100

When you claim yourself to be "A Writer" before this innocent world, and you boast like anything, there should be a decent figure of number of blog posts that must accompany you along to support your funny claims.

Recently, i was amazed to know that it was only 40+ blog postings i did till date during this year. That is very low considering the way i promote the purpose of writing and inside-out feelings that i spread like bird's wings. The blog has surely added contentment and a purpose of my writing. It added the creativity in the way i express and keep my point, but still boasting on such a "44" count does not necessarily serve the viewing pleasure of any of the reader.

I have thus, planned to make the count to 100 by the time this year Finishes! I wish to conver everything i had left in the haze of my marriage and the life after that. Though, no plans of past posting as i do not find it very fair.

So , lets calculate this post as a Pledge, a Swear, a Determination ... And bring it to 100

Enroute to Great Personality

MindTools - Website Review

Just while seeking to implant good communication skills and proactive writing habbits(more so on this blog), i stumbled upon a great site. This site has lots of articles related to various tips and tricks related to building a better personality.

I was impressed with the look and feel and the simplicity with which the various articles are categorized into the easily navigable sections that provides the lucid browsing experience.

Just to get a taste of strengh of the article's inevitable vocabulary, i just jumped into one of the Reasonably Titled article "Making a Great First Impression". The article first was initiated with the brief overview and then moved to explain each imperative topic in graceful point by point manner.
The reader thus does not feel the burden of being imparted the complete theseis and theory. One can understand by just reading the outline and may follow the article in depth if liked by him.
In all, i would definitely recommend the reading freaks like me to "have a Go" at least once on this Site..
Happy Browsing ...

Dusherra .. End of An Evil Spirit or Just Another Great Holiday

The festival of Vijay Ashtami or as popularly known as Dussherra brought the joy, happiness and Holiday to all. Those who understands the meaning of observing this festival really knows the imperativeness of celebrating but for others, its just a Holiday to pass the time.

This Dussherra sadly, i did the same. I just passed the time watching here and there . From one nook of our lane to another corner of it for various effigies.

I felt lucky enough to know that we belong to few colonies wherein the celebration of dusherra was so extravagant that people from extreme south and north end of the city ventured here to have a glimpse of the brightness of the occassion.

Partying the Nuts off !

Last week, after a long long and longer time, we celebrated the party. After so much head mugging with all the participants, we finally drove into finalizing the date and venue of the party.

The get together(what we officially have English synonym for "Daaru party") was arranged in cool ambience of Rooftop at Gravity Restaurant, Noida . The beautiful ambience of chairs and tables lined up in perfect arrangement mused everyone to drink and drab harder. But let me first clarify, before my wife get a chance to read and misunderstood my swere of not drinking "Alcohol" -- I only drank "Mocktail" Zapatta [See, i remember the Name as well !].

The chicken platters, wings, and what not came in abundance and we had thoroughly stuffed ourselves for the next day as well ... (at least for the next Morning at least ;-)

We started back for our homes early but it was a day of abundance of joy and niceties. Will definitely be looking ahead for more such parties.

Say out LOUD !
